The III Selective Barracuda Tour Costa Daurada, a fishing competition organized jointly by Hermanos Guasch and Club Nàutic Salou, caught 68 kg of fish that were donated to the Banc dels Aliments of the Tarragona regions, a non-profit organization deeply rooted in the territory.
Jorge Luque Fernández, skipper of the boat L’Ariadna, was the winner of this 3rd edition of the Selective Barracuda Tour, which will allow him, along with two crew members, to participate in the international Barracuda Tour final in Port Crouesty, France. This competition will bring together the best amateur anglers in Europe and the winners of other “Selectives” held across the continent.
Additionally, to celebrate the anniversary of Hermanos Guasch, a second spot for the international final was raffled. The lucky winner was Juan Antonio Ortuño, from the boat Jamty. Besides enjoying the Barracuda Tour international final in France, Hermanos Guasch will provide the winners and their crew with two Beneteau Barracuda boats.
The competition, sponsored by Suzuki Marine, was also an opportunity for participants to enjoy a competitive yet friendly day of fishing. The event was based at Club Nàutic Salou and started with a skippers’ meeting to explain the contest rules and instructions.
After an intense morning of fishing, the boats returned to the port for the weighing of catches to determine the winning boat as well as the 2nd (Ramon Duran Calero, Camella 4) and 3rd (Juan José Arnavat Roig, JJ) place finishers. The day concluded with a meal at the nautical club restaurant, where prizes were awarded and a raffle of fishing equipment was held among all participants, courtesy of SportNav, Lowrance, Yuki, and Fish Us.
The day ended with a performance by the comedian Albert Boira.
