  • Boat towing by Maritime Rescue to the nearest port in case of breakdown.

  • Coverage of rescue costs for the boat and occupants.

  • Coverage during club regattas.

  • Insurance tailored to your needs: leisure, rental, or organized trips.

  • Option to insure a small sailboat without a motor and under 6 meters.

  • Coverage for damages caused by a skier or tow cable.

  • Quality and trust from two leading specialists in the sector.

Coverage types

There are different types of coverage that you should be aware of before taking out insurance for your boat. In addition, there are several possible combinations that allow you to choose from very basic coverage of only civil liability (known as minimum compulsory insurance) to total coverage, better known as “comprehensive insurance.”

These are the main aspects of insurance that you should be aware of and review:

  • Geographical coverage: Don't forget to notify your insurance company of the waters in which you plan to sail your boat:

    • In inland waters of Spain.

    • Along the entire Spanish and Portuguese coastline and the rest of the European Union.

    • On voyages to the Canary Islands and/or the Balearic Islands.

    • Worldwide.

  • Material damage coverage: We recommend that you opt for comprehensive coverage, with or without a deductible. It offers extensive coverage for loss or material damage to the boat (hull, engine, accessories, and sails):

    • Hazards of seas, rivers, lakes, and navigable waters.

    • Fire and explosion.

    • Piracy, collision, or crash.

    •

Earthquake, volcanic eruption, and lightning strike.
    • Theft of the boat and its equipment.

    • Malicious acts.

    • Road travel.

    • Rescue expenses.

    • Removal of wreckage.

  • Extended civil liability coverage: As a supplement to material damage coverage, you can extend the civil liability limits, adapting them to your needs:

    • Extended option 1: Compensation limit: €1,000,000

    • Extended option 2: Compensation limit: €1,500,000

    • Extended option 3: Maximum limit per claim: the insured value of the boat in material damages.

  • Accident coverage: Are you concerned about the occupants of your boat?

    • Per occupant coverage: death, permanent disability, healthcare.

    • Per incident coverage: The premium is considered a single premium regardless of the number of occupants. Maximum 12 occupants.

  • Legal defense coverage

  • Towing coverage at sea: Coverage includes towing the insured boat to the nearest port if it is unable to navigate under its own power.

  • Wreck removal coverage: Covers the costs of removing the wreck of the insured boat, provided that the competent authorities legally require its removal.

  • Personal effects coverage: Covers personal effects belonging to the insured and/or their family that are on board the insured boat, in the event of theft or loss of the boat.
