Hermanos Guasch celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2019; 25 years in which “the Guasch brothers” — Josep Maria, Eloi, and Rodolf Guasch, three brothers passionate about the sea and sailing — have grown and consolidated, together with a committed team of professionals, a major business project in the nautical sector.
Today, the company is a prominent reference in the Spanish nautical scene, having consolidated a leading position, projecting its expansion into new markets and distributing a very wide range of boats. From beginner boats to luxury yachts, sail and motor, and even offering broader nautical services such as sail and motor boat charters. A career currently in its most flourishing stage, with the consolidation of expansion projects and the inclusion of brands like Sasga Yachts and, since late 2022, Excess Catamarans.
“The Guasch brothers” began their nautical journey by repairing boats along the Catalan coast, offering a highly personalized after-sales service for clients at the time, especially when most workshops were closed on weekends. This earned them a strong client base with a high level of satisfaction, fostering sustained growth and, most importantly, gaining their clients’ trust and loyalty. Over time, they began selling sports boats until they achieved exclusive distribution of a leading brand in the sector: Beneteau.
At the turn of the millennium, when Hermanos Guasch’s growth was clearly visible, the company made a decisive step to consolidate its position: opening its current corporate headquarters in L’Hospitalet de l’Infant. The center, with 7,000 m² dedicated exclusively to nautical activities, has allowed and continues to provide a wide range of services to the most demanding clients, both sail and motor.
After 15 years in business, and with a gradual consolidation trajectory, the crisis affecting all business sectors also impacted the projects Hermanos Guasch was consolidating. A downturn affected sales but not the morale of the team or the brothers. Josep Maria, Eloi, and Rodolf, a highly cohesive and complementary family, fought to work harder, bond with their team, maintain jobs, focus on base-level nautical activities, explore other markets, and sell like never before: fairs, boat shows…
“The easy way was to reduce advertising, structure, and staff, but we chose to step out of our comfort zone and did everything we could at that moment. It was one of the most difficult decisions in our business journey…” explains the CEO, Rodolf Guasch, adding: “We knew the situation wouldn’t last forever, and if we maintained that direction we would emerge stronger and positioned in the market after the effort… something inside me said this was the right path, even though it was thorny, and we had to persevere and our moment would come.”
And so it has.
With 25 years completed, the company faces a crucial stage for its future: continue consolidating and preserving the essence of everything that brought them here. Dedication to serving clients, efforts to remain a leading dealer in Spain, consolidating new branch openings, and continuously improving nautical services are key aspects — all while maintaining a humble attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
Since Josep Maria, Rodolf, and Eloi Guasch started Hermanos Guasch Embarcaciones Deportivas, the company has known that the path to excellence is built on teamwork and effort.
The entire Hermanos Guasch team celebrated the company anniversary with a lunch where families played a central role. In the words of Rodolf Guasch, CEO: “The human factor is essential for the evolution and growth of a company; we keep it very present. We constantly work to improve client satisfaction, and we do it through excellent service delivered by people.”
